Um no. I'm actually pro-capital punishment, but not for rape. Rape is not a killing offense. You should be thrown down a deep hole and never see daylight again for some rape offenses but being put to death...nope.

I'd actually disagree there.

I can think of plenty of things that would be worse for me than rape. First and foremost would be losing my family. If it was a choice between the life of a loved one and being raped, I'd choose being raped. But that's just me -- not trying to generalize to other women.

That anon is full of shit. I'm pretty sure most women would choose rape over being murdered.

Also, even if we're just talking things that happen to my physical self -- yeah, actually, I'd rather be raped than physically tortured in a number of other ways. (It's just that I am far more likely to experience rape as I'm not, like, Sydney Bristow)

I'd certainly rather be raped than murdered. You can recover from rape to some degree and learn to enjoy life again. Murder's the end of everything; exponentially worse.

Your comment is why:

- people don't believe a woman was really raped if she doesn't act traumatized enough about it

- women who were raped will agonize over thinking something is psychologically wrong with them if they aren't traumatized enough about it

Ugh. This is probably a troll but I actually know people who believe this. Not out of concern for victims' psychological welfare or anything, but because they think a woman's worth is all in her 'purity' and if she's been 'defiled' then she should just die.

Rape victims have a chance of recovery.

Living rapists can still be punished.

I'd rather not murdering people, it gives more chance of both recovery and punishment.
