This doesn't make it right obviously, but nearly every female celebrity gets bullied for her looks whether it's by the media or by average people who just like being dicks. Even the most conventionally beautiful women get a lot of shit for their appearance. I don't know who Sami Gayle is but she looks like a lovely person and I'm sure you are too

kind of dumb imo. everyone familar with the fandom already knows what he looks like and a lot of people who use tags like "poc character", "women being awesome" and etc come off as if they're just looking for brownie points and their fic tends to reflect that as well

I have this EXACT same problem. I understand there are reasons, both in and out of universe (in-universe, to show that the zombie apocalypse is bleak; out of universe, because it makes coding easier), but it all just feels so pointless. Is it too much to ask that ONE person you save makes it through to the end of the game?

It sort of baffles me that some people, after 4 seasons of it, are still actually surprised when it happens - I don't mean the timing or the way (obviously that can be shocking. But after Ned and The Red Wedding - really, you haven't figured out no-one's safe?

Parents are people.

I think a lot of authors forget this when writing fic -- even for non-abusive, "generic" parents. But when parents are abusive, they're usually written as one-dimensional villains who are just there to induce angst in the protagonist.

Parents are just as flawed and complex as their children and their actions are shaped by what they experienced growing up. When I realized that, it made it a lot easier to deal with my own father (although he wasn't abusive).

I never really saw it that way. I never liked Jecht but Auron did see a side to him that Tidus never saw, and I felt like it was important for Tidus to forgive Jecht for his own sake more then anything, and maybe Auron saw that.

Auron was awesome, but I like bitter undead characters. :>
