I pretty much agree with everyone here. You could use it to get a specific audience but for the most part it's a tag with a reputation that isn't so great for many reasons.

The thing is, if there are people looking for characters of that nature than they're probably also going to try looking for fic with the character's name so not much would be gained from adding it anyway.

I think, overall, it's better to leave it off.
