I don't get why some folks get so insanely hostile whenever a woman cuts her hair super short. I've seen these types of reactions when people found out the creator of Awkward Zombie cut her hair. Sometimes I get weird reactions because my hair's short as well, and some people even call me "sir" even when I'm dressed in a way that's obviously feminine. You'd think some people have never seen a gal with Pixie Cut before.

What I really don't get is why some people start making wild assumptions that the reason a woman cuts her hair super short is because she hates men. It's not always about you! I cut my hair short because of sensory issues due to my Aspergers'. I have the type of hair that tangles easily, so back when I had it long, whenever I brushed my hair each morning it felt like I was scalping myself with a dull spoon. Starting in high school I gradually started cutting it shorter and shorter until one day in college I decided to lop the whole thing off. I love my short hair because it makes brushing a lot less painful both figuratively and literally.

Sometimes I wish those haters had their hair get stuck in painful, permanent snarls.
