Most attractive fictional "type"

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
What species or type of character do you find attractive that is obviously fictional (as in, not something that really exists, like "girls with blonde hair" or whatever?

Blue-skinned people - like Nightcrawler or Mystique, or dark elves in some lores.

Also cyborgs - with cybernetics more advanced than we currently have them.

Have you played Mass Effect - if so, were the Asari your thing? (Was Nebula in GotG, since she was a blue cyborg?)

I loved Nebula. I thought her character design was a-ma-zing. I never finished Mass Effect - Asari, I'm not sure. Maybe it's the head crests, or maybe it's just the reproduction by melding, but I'm less crazy about them.

The LotR elves, various incarnations of vampires and werewolves, some incarnations of angels (Michael in Legion specifically), others I can't think of right now.

The LotR elves

Yessssss, teenage me had crushes on all the elves back when the films first came out. All of them.

Yeah (except the ugly ones, like Elrond. Who wasn't really ugly, but the guy playing him in the movies was).

I'd probably like Thranduil too, if he didn't look like CGI.

I totally had a crush on Elrond too, I was really not picky.

I loved them all too. They're just ethereally beautiful.

It's not impossible to find within normal human genetics, but I do like the look of naturally extremely fair/white hair with dark skin. Very prevalent in fiction though.

White hair-- not platinum blonde, in people of any race and age, obviously.

The Holly Black secret has reminded me that I always did have a thing for the Fae, even when they aren't being happily played by David Bowie. I wouldn't want a relationship with one, that never, ever, ever ends well, but damn if they aren't attractive.

I also tend to have a gut reaction to characters that have somehow managed to partially or even completely reconstruct themselves, from things like Tony Stark building the arc reactor to cyborgs to various undead who managed to pull themselves back together by sheer willpower and/or magic. I'm not sure if that's physical, though, or if I just really, really admire the strength of purpose necessary to do something like that.

Uhhh, nameks? But only the young ones like Piccolo and Nail. Trying to think of creatures that are not human looking at all.

Trolls from WoW (but only sometimes).

Mines not a physical thing but dual voices, or voices that 'echo' if you will. I find it unbearably hot.

I've given it some thought and the answer is definitely "jerks in space."

I'm seconding the LOTR elves. They just looks so beautiful and magestic.

Feline features, but only the ears and tails. Like the cliched moe stuff; I don't find the Avatar blue people attractive at all.

Seconding elves/fae/etc.

And, fuck it. I unabashedly love Byronic heroes.

I used to like Elves - LotR elves, which manage not to look like aliens, unlike D&D elves, which have faces too angular to manage to fit into my concept of "pretty".

Strangely, I like the Elves in Dragon Age 2, because of how they were made to look non-human. Except Zevran, because I was used to his DA:O model and the DA2 form looked terrible in comparison.

The Hobbit made my appreciation of rugged guys with facial hair grow, and I can now say I rather like dwarves too. Ironically, in a mirror to my thoughts on Elves, I'm not very taken with Dragon Age dwarves - they're too blocky.
