Re: Shows in their first season

It's always so disappointing when I start a show that has been advertised as "the new hit series from the US" and then I google a bit and find out it has been cancelled after one season. I'll still watch and try to get as much enjoyment out of the show (and maybe the handful of fanfiction) as I can.

Getting attached to the characters and the setting and then only getting a limited amount of canon kinda sucks but in my opinion it's comparable to reading a really good book: Finishing it might leave you longing for more but that doesn't mean that the bit you did get wasn't worth it.

And that a show only has one season doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be cut off in the middle of a story line. Just like getting x more seasons doesn't guarantee that all story lines will be (satisfactorily) resolved.
