Like I commented above, I've spent the last two or three days doing nothing but crying and having panic attacks due to discovering that I upset someone I really cared about, basically the best non-romantic relationship I've had for ten years is ruined due to stupid misunderstandings that are my fault.

Today I woke up, after failing to get enough sleep thanks to lying awake trying not to start crying again for four hours last night, and just... screw it, I'm through. I'm either numb or angry, and the anger is from my mom hovering like she always does when I need time alone. She does not understand that I really, genuinely, DO NOT WANT TO TALK OR SEE ANYONE, no matter how many times I say it. She left notes with little heart stickers plastered all over my door saying that she loves me and is worried about me, when I wasn't around this morning when she dropped by. I turned them around and wrote things like "TAKE A HINT" and "LEAVE ME ALONE" on the back and stuck them back to the door.

Went to the bathroom sometime later, and came out to find that the notes were gone, so maybe I'll be able to leave town tomorrow without her calling the police (again).

I wouldn't write off the relationship as ruined just yet, if they were just misunderstandings they you can take steps to repair things. It'll take time and work, but it is possible.

Your Mother just sounds like she's worried about you, which hey, it's her job, she's your Mom! I know it can be annoying, I'm the type that needs at least a few hours to calm down after something has made me really angry or sad, and my Mom would always try to push me to talk immediately after an incident. But she was doing it out of concern. Can you talk to your Mom and say, "Hey, can we make a deal where you give me at least a day to sort out my feelings before I talk?" It can be hard to get a parent to back off completely when they're concerned, but you may be able to make a compromise so that she doesn't bother you quite as much.

I wouldn't leave town without telling her, if she is the type to call the police then you may need to speak with her first.

She last called the police on me to try to force them to take me to the hospital because I overexerted myself doing yardwork and posted on FB that I had done so and needed to lie down for awhile.

And the thing is, she sent my dad and brother over to check on me twice the first day. I told them I was fine, just upset, and no - I didn't want to talk about it, I wanted to lie down and get rid of my stress headache. My dad and brother, being sensible people, said "Okay, we'll leave you alone then - if you change your mind and want to talk, let us know." And I said sure, bye.

My mom keeps coming by like every four hours ever since and knocking on my door, and leaving me like, brightly colored socks and flower crown headbands (which are not my style, so wtf). I'm seriously starting to wonder if I should call the police on HER, because if she wasn't my mother, I'd say she was a crazy stalker. (She does have mental health issues.)
