Well, I DO think TV is pretty boring g without conflict, but I do think shows like Castle have gone entirely overboard with manufactured obstacles.

There's conflict, which can come in almost any form and be about almost anything, and then there's "characters bickering about trivial issues", which is boring in the extreme and unpleasant to watch.

"Two detectives disagree about how to catch a serial killer" is an interesting conflict. "Alice is mad because Fred left the toilet seat up" is the type of thing I never need to see again, ever.
