The Kitiwiki APH wikia sources pretty well though. I've yet to find a 'fact' on there that is false.

I would avoid pulling stuff from the relationships sections as those can be a bit more subjective, but otherwise if it's a 'fact' it tends to be correct.

I became an editor to the KitaWiki because the descriptions of Ukraine and Russia's relationship pissed me off so much (and this was well before the conflicts with the government protests and Crimean occupation, mind you)

I guess what used to be there was a valid interpretation, since they are usually depicted as fluffy siblings and yes, a lot of Ukraine's appearances are in the anime-based material which depicts Ukraine as being super obsessed with her little brother...

Nevertheless. Himaruya clearly acknowledged that Russia and Ukraine have serious issues with each other and there needed to be more interpretations beyond "bubblegum sweet with incestuous subtext" at the time.

Ugh yeah. You can thank the anime for adding the cutesy incestuous subtext via the Counting Sheep CD and the Carrot and Stick image song. There's zero of that in the original, and much of her interaction isn't even with Russia (and the interaction that does exist, past their childhood, is sort of awkward. Like she obviously does care about him, but it's tense). I really, really dislike what the anime did with Ukraine.
