Eh, they're more childish than Amon was. Zaheer just prancing off after leaving the city in chaos, and apparently thinking that's a super awesome thing he just did? They're like teenagers, but they're in their forties.

+1

A lot of people seem to like the villains this season, but I honestly thought Amon was better (at least for the writing in the show.) These guys are just absurdly powered up anarchists, and they don't even seem to have a following to speak of in-universe.

Da

Mte. They don't seem very connected with the show like Amon was. They're just there to raise hell and be bad guys, unlike Amon who was at least backed up in his calling and not a four person gang.

While I like them, I wish the writing was more connected. I don't remember there being an explanation for how Ghazan or P'li can do what they do.

I kind of want the show to take it in that direction. They've probably been imprisoned since they were teens, yeah? So now they are incredibly fucked up people who missed out on a lot of development.

In a recent episode, Korra (or one of the main characters) was describing Zaheer to someone and iirc she said he looked to be in either his forties or fifties. They were only imprisoned for 13 years, so that would have made him in at least his late twenties when first jailed but more likely in his thirties or forties

na

I think you're remembering her description of Aiwei but, yeah, Zaheer and co definitely seem to be at least middle aged (or probably around the same age as Lin and Tenzin), so it's very unlikely that they spent any of their teen years imprisoned (unless they were previously jailed for incidents that occurred years before they tried to kidnap Korra I guess)
