As someone who likes both Anders and Fenris and doesn't mind the enemies to lovers trope.... yeah, I don't get it either. Anders is the only companion who would be cool with Hawke handing Fenris over to his old Master and Fenris wanted to kill Anders at the end of act 3. I can't even imagine them having hatesex, let alone develop an actual relationship. They'd be at each other's throats if it weren't for Hawke.
