For me I can see it both ways. I've seen both companies do dome great things and do some really stupid things.

When it comes to movies, the ones Marvel has put out themselves (as Marvel Studios) has been awesome. All the previous Marvel movies (from Howard the Duck to Ghost Rider) have been under different studios.

Vaguely related: George Lucas stepped down as the president of Lucasfilm in order to focus on producing films, including Howard the Duck. <-HAH!

Before Disney bought them what movies did they make on their own?

Huh... I don't know what to do with this information.

They bought them out around the times the Avengers was being made, so everything before that, and I believe the Avengers does not have a Disney credit on it, but I'm not sure.

You're right. I just looked it up. Thank you for correcting me. For some reason I thought all of those were made under Disney. I guess I was completely wrong and I have to take back the Disney thing.

They didn't make any. Some studios made some and I doubt that Marvel had much input on what happened in the movies (in the same way that have very little input on the Spiderman and X-Men franchises today).

edit: Woops, I am a bit wrong. Iron Man and Incredible Hulk were made by the Marvel Studios but distributed by Paramount. Thor/Captain America/IM 2 were made post being bought by Disney but was released by Paramount (with Disney's approval). All the rest are Walt Disney.

All other Marvel movies have been co-productions so how much input Marvel had is unknown (afaik).

Yeah, the anon corrected me. I'm shocked, to say in the least.

I'm pretty sure it's all still more or less Kevin Feige's baby.
