I've been sick for like a week and half and I spent a lot of time playing the Sims 2 in a mildly delirious state. It's the only excuse I have for why I now ship the hell out of some of the Maxis-made Sims. I mean, we all ship Morty and Bella, but who ships Vidcund Curious and General Buzz Grunt? (Hint: it's me.) I swear I'm like the only one in the fandom that cares about the pre-mades.

Anyway, this is your thread to talk about Sims stuff. The upcoming release of 4 (which I'm not super interested in, tbh), fond memories, what you are doing now, your favorite families, fun things that happened with free will on. You know, whatever.

Re: Being the only one interested in pre-made sims -- Not true. I've been playing the hell out of the Brokes, Pleasants and Goth/Goth-Losarios.

I also got my Legacy challenges mixed up and have started an Uglacy that is actually a prettacy (where you make hideous sims and see how many generations it takes to get to normal-looking). I made a set of sisters, one of whom essentially took all the CAS sliders to the left and one that took them to the right, each stopping just before they got to the point of teeth showing through skin (left-slider) or cheeks bulging out to such a point that hair was bisected when the game didn't know how to handle it (right slider).

I actually don't think the right-slider (basically the fat sim) looks too bad at all, but the the left-slider Sim is a freak of nature. Like, seriously, I don't think she could exist in real life. I'll see if I've got a pic in a minute.

So far, Right Sim is the only one to have babies. Twins -- one white, one black, both adorable. I think maybe all Sim Babies are just hardwired to look adorable and only become unfortunate looking in childhood.

Oh yeah, the super thin looking Sims always look way freakier than the bigger ones. I noticed that when I was messing with the sliders in the Sims 4 CAS demo. I tried to do an uglacy in Sims 3, but the ugly Sim I chose actually made super cute Sims. So, I just turned it into just a plan old legacy.

OK, here we go:
The sisters Jen and Faith Uglacy. From a distance, neither look too bad.

Up close, Jenn with the man who will father her child, now that she's met a dude she wasn't repulsed by. She's a romance sim and had a few dalliances with ladies to keep her spirits up while waiting for Mr. Sperm Donor.

And in profile:

Faith and this fancy looking fucker who only brought $5K to the household, with one of their babies, Franklin.

Franklin has unfortunate hair for a little boy, and I'm not sure where the red comes from. And it looks like he maybe acquired Auntie Jen's banana face.

Also, see that woman off to the side? I have no idea who she is, she just showed up for the birthday's, poked Jenn in the chest a few times and when Jenn asked her to leave, the "goodbye" interaction was a romantic kiss. :/

And it might be too early to tell still, but I think the challenge to reach a beautiful generation might be done in one. I give you Fiona:

I love your sperm donors. Pretty attractive dudes. You gotta find that blond townie guy with the green sunglasses. He wears a red sweater and has that shaggy blond hair cut. Every sim in my Strangetown thinks he's hot. Teens, gay sims, straight sims, every sim. They talk about him on the phone and the hearts go off.

Also, if you boolprop the Tombstone of L and D you can genetic merger same-sex couples. If Jen wanted to have some babies with the ladies.

I'm playing the Curious family again, and trying to see how many alien babies I can get. Currently Pascal is married to Nervous. The other two brothers are happier doing other stuff.

I married Pascal and Nervous too. They have three kids- Rockne (Pascal's alien kid), Kirk and Janeway. Thank you Tombstone of L and D for genetic merger. They win my cutest couple award, over Buzz and Vidcund. I'm deciding if Buzz and Vidcund should have a kid together after Buck goes off to college. I headcanon that Buzz doesn't like an empty nest, but Vidcund is happy living with his daughter (I named her Beryl) and Laszlo and Crystal and their kids Xavier and Charon (named Charon because Crystal keeled over dead while 2 days pregnant and Laszlo was lucky enough to save her from ol' Grimmy) so he doesn't want to get married or move in with Buzz. Vidcund still got that thing for Circe, even though she's turned darkside (she's an Atrociously Evil witch) and is cheating on Loki with the local head witch.

Lola and Erin are so cute too and make BEAUTIFUL kids, btw. I just made all the Singles ladies lesbians. Chloe and Kristen aren't as cute as Lola and Erin though.

Been playing Sims 2 since the Ultimate Collection was free. A few days ago I started a Challenge of my own design, forming an alien hive based on Pollination Tech#9's family tree. It may end up failing one generation in, cause I have yet to have a female child randomly rolled as a birth queen instead of Pollination Techs or Workers.

I've never completed a challenge or legacy in the Sims. I love family trees, manipulating genetics and town maintenance, though. How does your challenge go?

The basics: Start with a CAS couple, male and female, with the alien skintone and eyes. (Custom content or boolprop cheat, both work as long as they're both dominant genes.) The female is a birth queen, the male is a colony drone. Move 'em into a big lot and get breeding. Each child is assigned to one of four castes at birth, determined via dice roll. I have a triplets and quadruplets hack, so I've tweaked the odds to have a lot of multiple births, and no limit on the household size.

Girls have a 1 in 6 chance of rolling as a birth queen (the breeder). BQs are constantly pregnant once adult and produce the next generation. Boys have a 1 in 5 chance of rolling as colony drones, which father the next generation and goof off/party (building relationships). Each child also has a 1 in 12 chance of rolling as a Pollination Technician, otherwise they become workers.

Pollination Techs cannot breed with other aliens, but are allowed to move out once they're adults and marry humans (or impregnate via Tombstone of L and D). As long as their children retain the alien skin and eyes, their caste is determined the same as full-blooded aliens. Otherwise, they're considered human and no longer part of the hive.

Workers live with the birth queen and drones, and are sterile. They can have romances and woohoo, but not get pregnant. They help raise the children, cook and clean, and get jobs to bring in money.

Challenge continues until you have no more birth queens of breeding age or until you get bored (I rarely hit the fourth or fifth generation of any neighborhood). The hardest part was while the oldest kids were growing up and money was too tight to afford enough beds and bathrooms. After that, it's mostly a problem of everyone getting in each other's way in the nursery and bathrooms.

I'm constantly manipulating genetics. I started with Veronaville and I'll have a few generations where I will just have the blondes marry blondes, red heads marry red heads, etc and then cross them to see what happens when the black/brown heads mix in with everyone where the blonde and red heads end up. Currently one of the black haired Monty descendants crossed with a red headed Capp descendant and I ended up with a blonde child.

I have been devouring the Sims 2 since they released the Ultimate Collection. I played Sims 1 religiously through high school, played Sims 2 my freshmen year of college and got Sims 3 last year for my birthday when they offered an Origin bundle. I think of them all I really like Sims 2 the best.

One time I made a house full of Sims based on characters from my story and just let them do whatever to see how they'd interact without me interfering with their lives, aside from saving them from starvation/low hygiene, etc.

Well, two of my sims started interacting a lot (one of them is antisocial and likes being alone, the other one loves everyone and wants to be friends with every sim in town), all of the interactions initiated by the more friendly one, until it finally reached the point where romantic interactions were accessible. To my shock, the grumpier sim accepted a kiss from the friendly one. Now that completely random pairing is one of my OTPs, thanks to The Sims. The funniest part is, neither of them were supposed to be gay, and the characters I intended to be gay ended up straight.

I was attempting my first legacy challenge in Sims 3, but I tweaked the rules a bit and allowed AwesomeMod to run (plus CC skins/clothes/hair) because without it the game would just annoy me too much. My little sim was having some troubles in the romance department. For some reason she just couldn't keep a sim long enough to conceive a baby with. And it was like none of the sims were even all that interested in her. It was really weird.

So, she was hanging out a community lot trying to pick someone up, but it was slim pickings that night. She was getting older and I wanted an heir! I see this blonde sim walk in and figure this was her last chance for the night. I make her chat the sim up and uses a completely harmless flirt. I don't remember what it was, but it was like "Compliment" or something like that. Next thing I know the sim cops are pulling up and she's getting arrested! WTF! She gets thrown in jail and released the next day with a mark on her profile. She's now a convicted PEDOPHILE! Turns out the sim she was talking to was a teen (he looked older with the CC lol).

The fucked up part was with this status none of the sims wanted anything to do with her! I tried to remove it, but Pescado (author of AwesomeMod) put things in place that would make it permanent. I'd have to either remove the mod or delete the sim. I ended up getting so frustrated with AwesomeMod sneaking in shit like that, that I deleted it and looked for alternatives. Funnily enough, that's how I discovered NRaas' mods which I've been using ever since.

What the hell! I use NRaas and there are no sneaky pedo markers or anything like that! Why would you even allow teens to flirt with adults if you throw them in jail for it? (I let teens date adults sometimes in my game, so whatever.)
