I'm three episodes into this, and I'm still not over the first episode when they were all "what sort of box filled with dirt has a latch on the inside?" Like, I don't seriously expect them to be considering vampires, but you think SOMEONE would have made a crack about Dracula. This is general cultural knowledge, people.

Exactly.

The only way I got around that is that I imagine in this version of the world, Bram Stoker never existed. So, we never got Dracula.

Because if I were there, a plane full of dead people with no clue on what happened, with the place seemingly flying itself in (like the Demeter in Dracula only in plane form) and then a coffin like box full of dirt would have made me run for the stakes, swords and UV lamps.
