He's not known for his stand-up today, but that's how he got his start in the 70s and 80s.

Then WHO THE FUCK CARES. Jesus. The man is dead. It doesn't matter.

If it doesn't matter, why are you so angry? Why react instantly with disbelief when you don't know one way or another? It's a tragedy that he's dead, and it's a huge loss to his friends and family as well as the world of comedy. But there's no need to whitewash what he did. He was a flawed human being like the rest of his, we don't need to make him a saint to appreciate what he was.

Because OP is talking about bringing up something tantamount to cheating on your third grade test whenever someone mentions that the dude died. It's really in poor taste because his stealing jokes back in the day has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation about his death. The only reason you would bring that up is if you were saying that you were ambivalent about the news because he died buttttt...he DID steal jokes back in the day, so...you know...stealing is a crime... Apart from anything else, it's disrespectful to the person who is venting their emotion about it. It's just tacky and nasty. And yeah, nastier than stealing a joke.
