idgi, does allegedly stealing a few jokes make it less sad that he's dead or something? Like, if you told people do you think they'd be like "Oh, well fuck that guy then"? Most of the people mourning him aren't mourning him as a stand up comedian anyway. They're mourning him because he was in a lot of beloved movies and he did a lot of great things for charity

Exactly, stealing jokes isn't going to make anybody who cares he's dead suddenly happy about it, so I can't fathom what the point of bringing it up to people who express grief is, unless OP is trying to shut people up because they're tired of hearing about it...which can be accomplished by saying "shut up, I'm tired of hearing about it".
