Using Ao3 stats to judge old fandoms doesn't work very well, because a lot of less-popular writers never bothered to upload old stuff. Wraithbait's a better resource for SGA.

They have a point, though. McShep is hands down the most popular pairing in the online community and it's by quite a bit.

Yeah and most fandoms have juggernaut pairings. There are always those pairings that are going to attract the most attention/garner the most fandom activity.
