I think an only child misses out big time.

I think children with siblings have it worse off than any only-child. Nothing worse than a competitor under your own roof. The number of nights I stayed up chanting "I wish David Bowie's crotch would come and take you away right now", and it never did.

Huh ... I spent a lot of time as a teen wishing Davied Bowie's crotch would come and take ME away ...

I'm an only child and I agree. Even at my loneliest, never once have I been like "wow, another person to share attention, space, and all my possessions with who by some stroke of random chance may not even like me or be someone I like would be so awesome".

You sound like an only child who's been reading too much fluffy sibling fic.

I'd say it really depends. I will say it can give you an unrealistic worldview, because you live in a bit of a bubble. On the other hand, some only children have stepsiblings or cousins they're close with, so they still have sibling figures in their lives. Just not "traditional" ones. That's how it was for me.

Eh, it depends. My brothers are great, but I've known people whose siblings are outright abusive. Luck of the draw, like anything. What I've noticed is that onlies tend to have closer relationships with their friends.

You know, that's actually an interesting observation. It's weird because I think in some ways, making friends is a bit harder for onlies because we don't get social rules - at the same time though, when we do make them, we hold onto them. My best friend drives me nuts, but at the end of the day she's my "person." Whereas for some siblings, they are one another's "person."

2) it's pretty neutral actually. just like having siblings is pretty neutral. just because something's different doesn't make it worse.

Only children might miss out big time, is probably a more accurate way to put it. I'm very close with my siblings now that I'm an adult, but I have a friend with two siblings and none of them can stand each other. It varies a lot.

Between the clashing clown makeup, and how her eyes are so widely set compared to her mouth, and how she looks like a fish, just ugly to me. I know Asami is really popular and all, but I just can't find anything to like about her.
