That's kinda how I felt when a friend suggested I read Anne Rice's "Beauty" trilogy since I like bdsm. I got about a chapter in and was so skeeved out by the abusive non-con nature of it I couldn't read any further, and since then I've heard plenty of people rave about how awesome that series was and just can't understand. Maybe my kink is more Sane/Safe/Consensual then wild bondage porn :)

I pushed my way through that whole trilogy, just so I could say I read them. It was so very not my kink. I think I spent most of those books with a permanent D: face. I definitely kink on SSC, and maledom/femsub is so not my thing. Learning about pony play was a fascinating experience, though.

Oh, agreed! It started out with an interesting (imo) premise, so I had high hopes - but then as I kept reading, I became more D: (and I thought it would get better/more consensual, but......D:)
