Speaking about working with new Doctor Peter Capaldi, Coleman claimed that her new leading man had a "glimpse of naughtiness", and that the pair had been laughing continually since the third day on set.

During an appearance on The One Show on Thursday (August 21), Capaldi played down rumors about his co-star departing the sci-fi show.

"I'm not looking for a new assistant," he told presenters Matt Baker and Alex Jones.

"I don't know where these rumors have started. I've read she may be leaving at Christmas, but I don't even know if she'll get to Christmas. You'll have to watch it and see what happens.""

(As for whether or not Clara is leaving at Christmas ... overall it sounds coyly inconclusive to me.)
