My parents insist we're not rich, but I think they're just really bad at saving money. They certainly have lots of cash to blow on frivolities.

I was curious whether anybody would be willing to actually say it or not. I've seen a few people say it anon but never logged in and those might have all been the same anon as far as I knew.

It seemed to me like there would be some stigma attached, because there are a lot of anons and named users here yesterday and in threads the past that seem to have a prejudice against people who are rich, or people who are rich might fear sounding like they were showing off or be uncomfortable admitting it.

Do you feel anything like that?

No, not at all. No one has ever discriminated against me for having more money than them. If anything, I think I may have been discriminated against for not being rich enough. (I went to a school where a lot of the students came from really wealthy backgrounds, and I had a lot of trouble fitting in with them.)

I don't think rich people are discriminated against IRL at all, lol. I meant here on FS or on Tumblr or fandomy spaces, where things like being white and cis and het can actually work against you. Has it ever been an issue? Do threads like the one yesterday bother you at all?

They can be. They got a lot more privilege to get over that, but I've seen it. Least back in middle school.

Yes, they bother me, but not for my own sake. I get defensive for the friends I've had who were richer than me.
