LOL. I have never been an obsessive shipper of anything, ever, and in HP, I was always more interested in the general plot/character development/Harry himself/what was going to happen in the 7th book/who was going to die/what were the answers to all the mysteries than in something like endgame ships, but I'd be lying if I don't have just a tiny bit of this still going on.

This might be more a case of "can't like what you've never seen", though. I have read a couple of post-DH Harry/Hermione fics that were satisfying to me because they made sure to really show that Ron and Hermione still had a really great friendship and give them character development that made them not being a couple made sense in that fic, but even in those fics, the Harry/Hermione romance part still felt impossibly boring.

I've never yet seen Harry/Hermione done at all convincingly unless it was part of an OT3 -- and, by the way, I say this as a challenge for people to rec me a Harry/Hermione fic that will change my mind, not as a justification for me persisting in my own opinions about the ship. I like nothing more than for people to open my mind to more possibilities in fandom.
