I don't think the comparison works. Luke and Leia are actually twins. They are actually related. Two close friends are not the same thing. And a relationship can change from platonic to not platonic. It was never going to in the books, but it can happen. And the dynamics don't work either. Yes, Ron and Hermione are Harry's sidekicks, but Hermione is the brains of the operation in the way Leia never was, Ron is not an anti-hero the way Han is, and Harry relies on his friends much more than Luke ever does.

Really, you can't point to one set of dynamics to say anything about another set of dynamics.

Um, I think they were just saying that shipping-wise, they feel towards Harry/Hermione the same way they feel towards Luke/Leia. Not that the specific characters were perfect parallels or anything.

Okay, that makes sense. It read to me like they were saying the two trios were the same or at least really parallel, and since I've seen people say that, I wanted to disagree.
