I know someone who worked directly for him for two years.

He was military and said Bush was always really nice to the guys.

Invited them to watch a movie instead of leaving them in the helicopter as an example.

His superior actually thought it was a random dude knocking at the door, and cussed them out, but it was actually Bush with a bowl of popcorn!

Bush took it all in stride though. He's a very nice fellow apparently. And my friend also told me that any and all of them would willingly die many times over for Laura Bush. Hillary Clinton is another story though! (He worked for Clinton as well).

Always fear a leader who is really nice to the military. Fear even more one who is beloved by them in return.

To be honest, whether they're military or not, I do think it's good that he treats them like human beings. Those in power who treat those under their command like disposable units instead of people will always be worse to me. How someone treats a person they don't HAVE to be nice to and who is below them in a hierarchical system says a lot about them (though not everything).

Mind you, that doesn't make 90% of Bush's decisions less jaw-droppingly stupid and/or immoral. But he's not a cartoon villain.

I'd rather he (and any leader) treated them as soldiers TBH. They ARE disposable.

Fuck off.

Seriously. If soldiers are disposable then so is everyone else and there's nothing to complain about in terms of Bush's policy.
