Re: Stupid/naive things you used to think
(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)He was military and said Bush was always really nice to the guys.
Invited them to watch a movie instead of leaving them in the helicopter as an example.
His superior actually thought it was a random dude knocking at the door, and cussed them out, but it was actually Bush with a bowl of popcorn!
Bush took it all in stride though. He's a very nice fellow apparently. And my friend also told me that any and all of them would willingly die many times over for Laura Bush. Hillary Clinton is another story though! (He worked for Clinton as well).

(Anonymous) 2014-08-24 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)Mind you, that doesn't make 90% of Bush's decisions less jaw-droppingly stupid and/or immoral. But he's not a cartoon villain.
Re: Stupid/naive things you used to think
I'd rather he (and any leader) treated them as soldiers TBH. They ARE disposable.
Re: Stupid/naive things you used to think
(Anonymous) 2014-08-25 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)Seriously. If soldiers are disposable then so is everyone else and there's nothing to complain about in terms of Bush's policy.
