Harry/Hermione gave off such a brother/sister vibe that I knew they would never be a couple.

It ALWAYS bothers me when people view platonic relationship like that as romantic, but then again most of them might not have any siblings so any close relationship of the opposite sex automatically seems romantic to them.

Why can't a guy and girl just be good friends?

I just wanted to add, as a H/Hr shipper, I don't view their relationship as romantic in the books. It's platonic. I just really like the idea of them being in a romantic relationship and I would read H/Hr fic to see what an author thought that would look like. It's not always the case that H/Hr shippers are actually interpreting the canon differently.
