Secret after my own heart! Little Fuzzy was so innocently hopeful, if a little backward in some areas. Little Fuzzy and Fuzzy Sapiens remain two of my faves in sci-fi (obviously).

I've never heard of this series, but I'm intrigued.

It's old enough to be on Project Gutenberg, so you can read it for free. http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/18137

Fuzzy Nation is not a 'they,' though, is it? I thought that it was just one author's take on the topic (like fanfic) that he was able to get approved by the estate. I don't think it's the same thing as a corporate dark-and-gritty reboot?

*Disclaimer, I don't know the original or the Scalzi book except by reputation.

This is correct.

Little Fuzzy secret!!!

Thank you, OP: last year I was tempted to buy the sequels by written different authors, but now I'll know to stay away from them.

Also, I'm a Star Trek fan - the kind who likes both the original series and the reboot: to be honest, I'm glad they decided to make the movie AU. I think trying to put them in the same continuity as the OS would have been more jarring.
