Well, obviously you got the wrong impression then. Even people who made fun of his movies (and you yourself freely admit that some of them are terrible and thus presumably worthy of some derision) may have liked him a lot.

And it's not like people need to be vocal about liking someone in order to feel sad about them dying, jeez. Especially since it was a suicide. I usually don't care hardly at all about celebrity deaths, but seriously, cut people some slack.
