I don't know why people in this thread are acting like you're literally referring to them, op. It's true that there were a lot of people who openly disliked RW, and while I didn't hang around them, I'm sure some of them are now claiming to like him and it sounds phony, which can be irritating.

Probably because OP sounds like an irritating hipster. They overshadowed the legitimate point of "some people are claiming to like him suddenly and it rings false" with a strong air of "OMG where were you when he was alive?! You had your chance to like him before, now it's too late. No opinion changes allowed, you plebs."
