One of the people I follow on Tumblr reblogs posts at such a volume that I have thirteen pages of dashboard with nothing but her at the moment (most recent post that wasn't her was about two hours ago), doesn't tag with anything I could use to filter out the stuff I don't want to see (to be fair, this includes everything from Sherlock to suicide), and I can't unfollow her for social reasons. I am legitimately considering unfollowing her and damn the consequences.

What kind of social reasons would hinder you from unfollowing her? I say if you have thirteen pages of just her, that's a legit reason to stop following, whatever the social reasons might be.

Do what I do with people like that: just blacklist the username and set Savior to not give you a notification if it's blocked a post. Suddenly, clean dash, and no guilt/social issues!

Granted, you miss out on any good stuff she might be posting, but that's the trade-off for the aggravation.

I've got her muted on Xkit. It's just that nothing new moves up to fill those slots, so instead of thirteen pages of her I have thirteen pages of nothing.

This is a good idea if possible. It's the equivalent to what I've done on Facebook with a couple people - you can unsubscribe from them without unfriending them and they won't know about it.

It takes a lot to push me to that point, but it is a good option.

Unfollow her and yes, damn those consequences.

Alternatively, you can stick their url into tumblr savior. You still have to scroll a bit, but you don't have to see it.

There's an option on tumblr where you can "ignore" users.

Which if this person is a friend and they try to send them an ask...it'll be found out. Ignoring means you also block them from sending you asks and fanmail. Unfollowing would be less socially destructive than ignoring.

install xkit. install the extension that lets you mute posts. mute this persons posts.
