"I'll be over at 6 PM."

*at 6 PM*

"I'm leaving now, it'll probably be 7."

*at 7*

"Hey, I'm going to be a few minutes late, expect me at 7:15."

I have a friend who does that. I just expect him an hour late and then get pleasantly surprised if he's "early". It's frustrating though.

I do the same, but on occasion I just don't feel like waiting an 'extra' hour and a half and am like, "Ughhhhhhhhh, why?".

...I do this. *shame*

I really must try harder not to, so I don't piss my friends off like your friend is irritating you. :(

LOL. Don't get me wrong, everyone is late now and then so I don't think it's the worst thing in the world, but when it's every time it can become a bit irritating. (I'm sure you don't mean to do it, though!)

(And I was actually thinking of my brother who can't be on time for anything, which is especially frustrating when he needs a favor and you show up to help and he isn't there.)

this is even more frustrating when I have two things scheduled. If I'm going to hang out with you first and you do this and that pushes something else back? I cancel on you, sorry, you should have been better organized.

IMO that's understandable. If you don't have anything else lined up and can still go through with it (and want to, depending on how long the wait is) alright, but if you have something else scheduled it isn't on you to cancel your other plans.

Yeah, I just find it worse when I have to schedule to hang out with you because you are so OMG busy and then you end up being late without regards to my time. I have slowly been cutting those people out of my life.

I know a few friends who have ADHD who do this for the most part. I don't know your friends situation, but this lateness could be unintentional and the product of someone who is scatterbrained rather than thinking their time is more important than yours.

Ah, I was talking about my brother. (Who def doesn't have ADHD.) He's just bad at time management, thinks it's no biggie and is chronically late.

If he did have ADHD I don't think I would mind so much.

Same, I have a friend who I think really just has trouble reasoning "if I want to be there by seven , I have to leave by six thirty." It sounds like basic common sense when you don't have a million things running through your head... when you do, not so easy.

My problem is the opposite of this. People who come over too early drive me mad. We've got two kids, one of whom is 14 months, and I usually need that last twenty/thirty minutes before people are slated to arrive to do stuff. Like put on a bra or take a poop by myself or something. LOL

Oh god that's annoying. I'll admit I am terrible for being late to things, but I am not over an hour late from when I say I'm going to be somewhere by(not unless I get lost on the way).
