People who use Steam more than I do, why does Steam have to update EVERY time I try to launch a game (after starting the computer up)? It isn't like there has been new content since yesterday.



Also, why does it always say it can't connect the first time I try to launch it? D:

And I'm also tired of Steam asking for my username and password every time I try to open it. I rarely play, so when I finally have free time/I'm in the mood for playing I had to wait for it to update and then to ask for my fucking password (which I set a ridiculous long password for, not knowing this would happen), which in turn discourages me to play more often. >:/

That happens if you leave Steam logged out for long periods of time. It updates regularly.

Same thing happens with my mom's computer. Every few weeks I gotta go and deal with her freaking out because she doesn't know what "Windows Update" means because she only fires up her computer once every so often.

LET'S COMPLAIN! I hate that every time I try to log onto Steam it tells me it can't connect to servers. Every. Time. But the second time I do it, it works. WHY NOT THE FIRST TIME? D:

Does this happen for EVERY game or just a few? You may want to consider validating your games' caches.

It happens to the first game I play that day (so if I restart my comp it will do it again).

Oh man. I've never ever had Steam make me wait that long for something. D:

It does sometimes to the "can't connect" thing to me tho. not sure why.

Do you have your installed games set to automatically update every time Steam is launched? I have my games set to only update games when I launch them. You have to right click the game in Steam, go to Properties, go to Updates, and set "Always keep game up to date". If that's already set, it's another problem.
