29. I really haven't seen outright bashing. I've seen what looked like it--but I can also understand where the people who are skeptical, at least, of these female characters are coming from. They might be doing more than a number of their male counterparts, but the fact remains the there is, as always, a slight imbalance between the number of male and female characters, as far as I can tell...

And I think part of the issue is that they either a) aren't contributing anything significant to the plot whatsoever (Louise--and ~~Sanji~~ Saji, but yes), or b) contribute to the plot, but in a TOTALLY ILLOGICAL MANNER (Marina, I'm looking at YOU. Sunrise better have a DAMN GOOD EXPLANATION for that, although 'Setsuna is a fucking idiot' might appease me for a bit. Also, without TONS more development, I don't want to see Marina/Setsuna. EVER.).

I haven't seen ANYTHING bad said about the other girl characters, besides possibly bitching about Liu Mei's sitting pretty (but at least she does moar than Alejandro, etc. etc.), and

kaigou's dissection of Sumeragi, but that was a logical argument backed up by canon evidence.

I also need to say this: misogyny is a Big Bad Fandom Thing, but I'm getting really, REALLY tired of how label-happy people are with that. If you say something negative about a female character, even if it's your honest opinion, you run the risk of being shouted out of the discussion as a 'yaoi fanbrat'. So, are we slash fans allowed to yell at everyone wishing Tieria was a girl as 'het fanbrats' now? :|

I mean, I *did* start watching the series because of all the endless "stupid sexy lockon" secrets turning up here, but yeah, actually, I don't find him that hot either. *footshuffle*

Also, re: SETSUNA IS A FUCKING IDIOT-- WORD. Seriously. Sis and I had to pause the video at the point where he gave his identity away to shout "WTF SETSUNA YOU FUCKING IDIOT WHUT?!" Chriiiiiiiist. *eyeroll*

XDXDXD Me too! I had people quoting 'stupid sexy Lockon' at me every time a pic/the subject of him was brought up, and then F!S had that Lockon field day (Tieria/Lockon and Kamina/Lockon ftw), and that's when I took the dive. XDD

I do like him quite a bit personality-wise, and some bits appearance-wise, but, I hate the way curls are done in canon. >>; *shallow* Anyways, he has yet to really move past the generic 'I'm a leader, I am awesome, wise, and I can has a Gundam and a Haro' phase for me, so I guess we'll have to see. 8D;;; ~~I am intrigued by that tidbit at the start of ep. 9, though.~~

I assume this is directed at me? If it is, then yay for twisting my words, eh? I am honestly baffled where you pulled this from considering I was very specific with my secret. I don't know how much more I have to reiterate that the secret was more directed to those who unreasonably hate them (i.e. hating on Louise just because she's, apparently, "useless" when those same people love Saji to death, etc.) - double standards, and all that.

Ahaha. No, it isn't directed specifically at you; honestly, I've just been seeing entirely too much 'YOU'RE A MISOGYNIST' and 'DEATH TO YAOI FANBRATS' lately, so it's mostly venting in that direction in general; not a specific condemnation of your secret.
