but I'm getting really, REALLY tired of how label-happy people are with that. If you say something negative about a female character, even if it's your honest opinion, you run the risk of being shouted out of the discussion as a 'yaoi fanbrat'. So, are we slash fans allowed to yell at everyone wishing Tieria was a girl as 'het fanbrats' now?

I assume this is directed at me? If it is, then yay for twisting my words, eh? I am honestly baffled where you pulled this from considering I was very specific with my secret. I don't know how much more I have to reiterate that the secret was more directed to those who unreasonably hate them (i.e. hating on Louise just because she's, apparently, "useless" when those same people love Saji to death, etc.) - double standards, and all that.

Ahaha. No, it isn't directed specifically at you; honestly, I've just been seeing entirely too much 'YOU'RE A MISOGYNIST' and 'DEATH TO YAOI FANBRATS' lately, so it's mostly venting in that direction in general; not a specific condemnation of your secret.

I also realize that you did direct your ranting at the 'irrational' bashers, but saying 'I want Setsuna/Marina just to spite the yaoi fanbrats' doesn't really help your point all that much. XD;; It would be like me saying 'I want Tieria/Setsuna just to spite the het fanbrats'. >>; I guess I'm just also extra-wary of 'misogyny' and 'yaoi fanbrat' turning up in the same place, too.

No where in my secret did I say 'I want Setsuna/Marina just to spite the yaoi fanbrats', if you actually tried to understand the context, then you'd know that that particular statement was also directed at those 'irrational' bashers.

Virginia, I really do wish you'd lay off the defensive-complex here, because as much as you hate that term 'mysogyny' used frequently, it exist. But your argument does not really hold ground because as far as I've seen, no one is overgeneralizing here.

Excuse me, but "I want her and Setsuna to get it on just to spite all the 'OMG she's sooo old and weepy and getxx in the way of teh yaoixxx' bitchings I've been hearing non-stop."? I don't see how context has anything to do with the basic nature of the statement.

I don't 'hate' the term misogyny; I just think it's often both overused and misapplied, which is a damn shame. And I didn't say anything about overgeneralizing; I was merely pointing out the flaws in your argument.

Dear, you're the one who mentioned the words 'yaoi fanbrats', exaggerating people's position to make it appear much more radical than it really was, not me. You're right though, that isn't overgeneralizing, that's presenting a strawman argument.
