I don't take nudes so there's nothing to go public. Even if I was that comfortable with my body (and/or had someone I wanted to share them with) I wouldn't do it because that kind of shit is not safe.

Just want to add that leaking nudes is a shit thing to do to someone, though. Seriously, you have to be a ginormous asshole to do that. (And I see nothing wrong with nudes themselves, they just tend to not stay private, so it can suck.)

Honestly, there's probably some names on the list that could do with the publicity. And who's for us to say if they actually mind that nude pictures were leaked or if it's more that their privacy was breached. They're all beautiful, fit, young women in their prime with nothing to hide. For everyday people like us it can be hard to comprehend, but their bodies are their careers. It's on display to everyone all the time and this is something they all understand when they get into the business. It's terrible that someone leaked them without their permission, but I can't see many of them being upset that their boobs are on display. Hell, JLaw as Mystique leaves very little to the imagination.

I didn't google to see which celebs pictures were taken, so maybe a few of them could use the publicity. Maybe some of them don't even care about the nude factor itself, but for me that's not even the point; it's the breach of privacy. Having something you thought was personal taken from you and put out there for the world to see is probably pretty terrifying, no matter how beautiful you are. You could have the most banging body in the world, but if you didn't intend to put those pictures out there, if you wanted them to stay private (when so little of your life is), that would probably be upsetting for some people. I don't even think it matters if they've been naked before in front of the camera, it's the intimacy attached to the pictures or the simple fact that someone went through their personal belongings and took something that didn't belong to them then shared it with the rest of the world.

Again, maybe none of them mind, maybe they don't feel hurt or embarrassed or what have you, but despite their careers I think it's 100% normal if they aren't 'okay' with it.

And I agree that the intrusion of their privacy is the bigger issue. It was just that from your first comment it seemed like you were more against that they were nudes which is why I brought that up. I've seen some of them and not all of them are completely naked. I think there's a few of just posing in what looks to be swimwear.

I actually think more celebrities would be more upset if personal pics of their kids and families were leaked because it's a clear invasion of not just their own privacy, but those around them who did not choose this lifestyle of constant scrutiny. Which is why I don't agree with people who e-stalk celebrities. I'm not even just talking about that paparazzi, but fans too.

I think the personal discomfort and loss of security you would feel from being hacked would be bad enough, but the taking of nudes would be an extra blow.

I agree about the kids thing, and think families of celebrities should be left out of the media unless they they choose to be in the spotlight. I feel bad for people who have famous family members and get photographed or speculated about. It's an awkward and unfair situation, but as long as the Internet is around, I'm sure things will get worse and worse for them.

As for the fan pictures, I'm of two minds about it. If the fan wants a picture with the celeb and the celeb agrees to it, they probably aren't going to be angry if you post it. They probably even expect it. Taking pictures of celebrities that the celebrities haven't agreed to when they're out enjoying their day normally? I am kind of uncomfortable with that. I feel like they deserve some privacy even if at a certain point in their career privacy becomes unrealistic.

You can saw their bodies are their careers as much as you like (which, not quite--actress=/=porn star, no matter what the skeevy Hollywood recruits want you to think) but the key word in all of this is "leaked." As in, without permission. There probably aren't many people who'd be comfortable with something that person, that they sent someone in confidence, suddenly out there on the internet.
