Are you guys aware of all these celebrity nudes that started leaking just now?(I'm not going to link them tough.)

I'm disgusted by the vile people that are leaking them,but I'm so jealous of the amazing bodies I'm seeing.

Did you ever had your nudes go public?How does one handle that?

I don't know if any nudes of me even exist, and if they do, they're baby-in-the-tub ones. I haven't taken a picture of myself naked or let anyone else do so in...ever. I'm not embarrassed by cute little me so it wouldn't be that big a deal if those pictures did exist and somehow got out.

No, and I don't think anyone would be interested in my nudes heh.

Who actually posts nudes that have a face attached? For real, this is like internet security 101.

I would imagine people in serious relationships would.I mean,there's a lot of trust going on and you wouldn't expect your SO to leak them.From what I hear,the pics were stolen and not just let out by some bitter exes.Something to do with accounts being linked,sort of like google drive but I'm not sure.

Still,it's a shitty thing to have that happen to you.I feel bad for the ladies involved.

I published full nude photos of myself, with my real name and face, on a very popular website as part of a confrontational piece about body image issues. It was actually a big success.

Apparently someone from 4chan hacked into their cloud storage, possibly iCloud, and obtained the photos illegally.

As for taking them in the first place. Most of them make their living off looking good in front of a camera. It doesn't seem too much of a stretch to say they could be posing to see what it looks like. Not all the pics were nudes, some were just in scantily clad lingere and/or bikinis. For the nude ones, they're traveling a lot. If they're dating or married to someone, taking a risque pic to go with some sexting would be their only option to be intimate at a distance.

I don't take nudes so there's nothing to go public. Even if I was that comfortable with my body (and/or had someone I wanted to share them with) I wouldn't do it because that kind of shit is not safe.

Just want to add that leaking nudes is a shit thing to do to someone, though. Seriously, you have to be a ginormous asshole to do that. (And I see nothing wrong with nudes themselves, they just tend to not stay private, so it can suck.)

Honestly, there's probably some names on the list that could do with the publicity. And who's for us to say if they actually mind that nude pictures were leaked or if it's more that their privacy was breached. They're all beautiful, fit, young women in their prime with nothing to hide. For everyday people like us it can be hard to comprehend, but their bodies are their careers. It's on display to everyone all the time and this is something they all understand when they get into the business. It's terrible that someone leaked them without their permission, but I can't see many of them being upset that their boobs are on display. Hell, JLaw as Mystique leaves very little to the imagination.

God knows I don't like Lawrence but I feel slightly bad for her and the others. That just isn't cool.

I feel really bad for JL and for the others who had photos leaked. So not cool.

An ex of mine has some rather racy "art" photos of me up on his website, and I wish he'd take them down, but oh well. At least they are not under my name.

People who leak nudes are assholes, full stop, no redemption ahead. I imagine celebrities deal with it the same way they deal with everything else (with carefully worded answers given through a publicist) but your average person probably just gets angry and frustrated because there's not much you can do. If you're lucky enough to live somewhere where posting nudes without permission is illegal you might have more luck, but I wouldn't bet on that.

Um, celeb nudes, both fake and real, have been getting leaked for quite some time. People like Madonna and Vanessa Williams had to deal with that kind of thing years ago.

I just can't imagine what goes through celebrities' heads when they take these pictures in the first place.

Maybe it's because I don't take selfies at all (let alone nudes), but WHY just why would you EVER take nude pictures on a device with an internet connection when you KNOW that there's people out there who are actively trying to get pictures of you naked? And that there are probably thousands of people who would PAY to see them.

That doesn't make the invasion of privacy any less egregious, but I just can't understand the thought process of these celebrities. They're adored by millions of people…what do they get out of sending out nude pictures to significant others? It's not like they don't have people lining up to sleep with them. And i completely get that they probably work very hard to look as good as they do and maybe want to have pictures to show that off. That's fine. But for God's sake, keep them in a secure location or on a secure device.

I know this sounds like victim-blaming. But for me it's just so frustrating because it seems like a situation that's so very easy to avoid if you just use some common sense.

As someone who has been in a relationship with someone that was forced into long distance during the "honeymoon" stage I can get wanting to send pics. When all you've got is your phone, sexting only does so much. The pics add another level of intimacy that can't be obtained while apart. I know it's easy to say, "Wait till you're together." But when that wait can be years at a time, it's not that easy. And honestly, in the heat of the moment, I don't think you're really thinking about, "Oh god, someone might hack my phone and find these." You just do it. Now, why these celebrities didn't use something like snapchat or desync their phones from the cloud is a flaw in their personal security to prevent things like this from happening.

This is exactly why I never take nudes, ever. The internet isn't secure, our phones aren't secure. The only way to take nudes and make sure they're safe is to do it by Polaroid and stick them in a physical album that you keep to yourself, which seems silly and counterproductive.

I'm in a LDR myself, so I get it, being without your SO for long periods of time makes it hard, but you'd be surprised how good an old-fashioned bout of phone sex can perk you right up.

That all said, I feel terrible for the people whose photos leaked, and shame on the ones who did it.

Unfortunately these days it's so easy to get nudes of someone that they don't even need to give you their consent to get them. One famous incident involved this piece of shit who hacked his roommate's webcam. It led to the suicide of Tyler Clementi, who was so ashamed of being outed by his roommate to a bunch of strangers on the internet without his permission. There's also a news story of two Bulgarian international students who found hidden cameras in their apartment in Florida.

A Cracked.com did an article on this issue of revenge porn, and plenty of victims came out about their experiences. A fair amount of them discussed how some people they know found the photos on porn sites that they never consented to taking. Either because there were hidden devices or the people they were with took them when they were sleeping. And some commenters on that same article listed cheap devices people can buy at stores like Best Buy to record footage of people without their consent and knowledge.

Basically, these days, you don't even have to take a sext of yourself to have your nudes leak out.

if everyone was a nudist we wouldn't have this problem
