Star Trek the original series. Science fiction novels. Classical music. The spectrum of visible light.

I, for one, think the visible light spectrum is so passe. I mean, those colors with those shadows? Puh-lease.

Any novels in particular?

*grins* I could do without ~570 to 635mm, actually.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea was the first book I can recall reading (I was 6). It had lovely, Maxfield Parish-ish illustrations. I read a lot of dystopia when I was in high school, and a lot of J G Ballard. Dan Simmons Hyperion> is still my favorite, but I've been wanting to re-read Le Guin and Butler lately (if I can find where they're buried.)

I'm also a lifelong reader of mythology and fairy tale collections.

Oh man, when I was a kid I loved mythology. And I had this one book of like...Cherokee folktales that I lost at some point. Recently found it on Amazon and it was the best day ever.

oh, cool! for me it was Padric Column's book of Norse myths. The day I found a used copy of the same edition of that -- it had wonderful illustrations -- I was very happy. (And I even tracked down the ilustration Verne a few years ago.)
