Is the seventh Doctor that popular in fic? I don't really read DW fic so I don't know but I always got the impression that others were more popular.

Not very, even for classic Doctors. Came along at the tale end when no one was watching and some of his stories are goofy.

Whofic has its own archive though, A Teaspoon And An Open Mind (http://www.whofic.com/), so people in that fandom are overall less likely to upload to AO3. Though judging by their numbers Seven still isn't that popular, he only outnumbers One and Two. Most popular seems to be Five, surprisingly enough, though he's only a tiny bit ahead of Four...

AGREED SO HARD

And also both reverse pairings (I think Martha and 7 would be interesting, and I've thought for a long time that 5 and Donna would be a fascinating pair to play off each other). So hey, there's at least one person out there who shares your views. Might have something to do with the fact that 5 and 7 are my favorite doctors and Donna's one of my favorite companions, though.

I love the idea of alternative doc/companion pairings but the ones that exist never seem to involve the pairings I want to see!
