I love Peter. I don't defend him, but when I watched TW he was one of my favs.

I was surprised how many people all out hate Xander. I could understand finding him annoying and hating on some of his choices, but a lot of Buffy characters have especially the second issue where they make bad choices and do bad things (and yeah I've heard the defense that he seems to get away with it more, but I still find it surprising how much hatred he gets.)

me too. I was a little shocked by how virulently he was hated in the thread yesterday. but then again, FS seems to kinda hate Buffy the show overall, so IDK.

I feel like out of all the characters, Xander had the most realistic life experience and the least character growth. And I think a lot of people could identify (or at least understand) some of his, um, less positive traits when he was "17", but found it a bit harder to excuse in a 24-year-old (Or however old he was supposed to be in season 7.) And even then, he probably would have caught more of a break if certain writers didn't keep trying to sell him as the heart of the team. Still, I liked Xander well enough most of the time.
