Here's the link to the story; I don't think it's the one you were looking at; there's apparently four million fics titled that on AO3. If I'd realized that I'd just have linked.

The story has a couple of pairings listed but that's not the focus of the story at all. Even if you hate both the ships listed, I think you might enjoy the story because Harry/Hermione is a one-off thing that doesn't really work and Harry/Snape is never really explained in detail because Hermione is on the outside of the relationship.

+1, I haaaate Harry/Snape with the power of 1000 burning supernovae, and I still liked this fic hugely.

I'm about two-thirds through it, and totally loving it. It made me remember how much I like Snape/Harry. The whole thing is so well written. Can't wait to have time to finish it and read more from that author.
