Well, presumably because Peter Capaldi is happily married.

(OP should probably have been clear whether they meant Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman, or Clara Oswald and the Doctor, but I read it as being the former, not the latter)

Oh. I read it as Twelve/Clara because idk. I just assumed and a lot of people refer to the different Doctors as their actors name. But yeah. Rereading it, it probably means the actors.

I'm not into RPS but eh. Whatevs. I actually haven't seen any Peter and Jenna shipping.

Being married would stop no shippers.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki are both married with children. Yet people still insist they are actually banging each other (and that their wife and children are "beards"). Those people are crazy.

I'm not into RPF, but I don't think it is the same thing as people actually suggesting the actors are together in real life. Yes, those people are creepy. But RPFers aren't necessarily, as much as RPF personally wigs me out.

Yeah, I agree, there's definitely a difference. RPF squicks me out but I know people who are perfectly sane and just like to write RPF the way I write other fanfic. It isn't the same as the crazies who genuinely believe actors are secretly in love with each other.

I've seen a few comments to the effect of "Wouldn't it be cute if West and JJ (or Tom and Maison or Shepherd and West or whichever two) grew up and dated" and suchlike, but I'm not sure if that even qualifies as shipping per se.
