I'm actually surprised it didn't effect me because I usually don't watch cancer movies. My mother didn't die of cancer, but she was pretty sick and we thought she was going to. That being said, after the first time, I mostly zone out and close my eyes until we get to adult Peter. The first time, the scene was so short that I was affected a bit but then I got into the movie and was okay.
