It didn't spoil my experience (and it wasn't my mom, but my grandpa did, and my dad's currently being treated for it) - but yeah, it did make it really emotional for me, and it caught me totally off guard.

For me it was the visuals. Because I had 3 grandparents die of cancer, but I never actually saw them dying. Whereas my mother didn't die, but I saw her in a hospital bed like that, bald and clearly really sick. So now every time I see the movie I close my eyes at that scene and then once I get past it everything else is awesome.

Yeah, I totally get that. Thing is, I know that there are a few things that will upset/disturb me in fiction, but I've never gotten to the point where I actually left the movie. One time I did cry in the car afterwards, but that was the worst case scenario.

The thing is I dislike spoilers so I just...risk it. Also I'm way too stubborn to let it affect my choice in movies, and I want to see all Marvel things anyway.
