(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)I just wish they'd have utilized the potential a little bit better, instead of squishing everything down to be more "child friendly." (Getting rid of Zira's suicide, for instance.)
But why the opening?

(Anonymous) 2014-09-06 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)"He Lives In You" is one of the most emotionally powerful Disney songs in existence. It's gorgeous on its own, with the tense orchestration of the opening leading into the gentle, proud reassurance of the chorus and then exploding into this great triumphant sound in the last repeat. But in context, it's taking the "we are all connected" general premise of "Circle of Life" and turning it into something far more personal so you can see what it really means for the characters.

(Anonymous) 2014-09-07 12:39 am (UTC)(link)Yep. I'm really not that big a fan of the movies (like them, own them, but wont really go out of my way for them), but I own four separate soundtrack albums including the Broadway one.
