If you're having issues, one thing I find really useful is a rubberized base coat (I prefer ORLY's version of it.) It's a layer of polish that goes underneath whatever color you're using and helps the polish bond to the nail more effectively. A topcoat can also help, though that's more useful if it's coming off in chips rather than one sheet.

That said, though, I don't think you're going to get much longer than two weeks and a single application - though I've never over a week without significant chipping, so maybe I'm not one to talk!

Just chipping in (lol) to say that I think a topcoat is always a good thing to apply anyway.

And also to say that one week is probably what you (general you) should expect. I can often go about 10 days still feeling pretty good about how it looks, but that always comes with some minor chips/peels even so.
