I love the show, I love the relationships in it, but it doesn't work for me as any romantic subtext.

I think my subconscious sees it more as a father/son dynamic, even though their ages aren't far enough apart. Neal needs Peter in a way that fits that dynamic better for me. And I think that he would completely deny that and be hugely offended! But it feels like it's there underneath their push-pull friendship and working relationship, to me. He really needs Peter in deep ways that don't feel sexual/romantic to me.

I do love Peter's wife (I can never remember how to spell her name) but tbh I'm not sure if the pairing would work for me if she didn't exist. (And the world would be a sadder place if she didn't!)

P.S. Have you ever watched any YouTube bits that show the two actors interacting? It is so sweet you will smile for DAYS. They clearly love each other to bits and feel so safe together. <3 And they unashamedly HUG!
