If you actually paid attention to the storyline instead of ogling Emilia Clarke's tits you'd see that it's a subversion of the trope, with her actions in trying to fix foreign societies just ends up making things worse for everyone.

That's not OP's point at all though

you agree with OP that Dany counts as white, you just don't think it's a "White Savior" storyline.

also have the parts that make it a subversion actually aired yet?

I think they started to? But not really. And because they've given so many of Dany's decisions to her male advisers, I almost feel like it'll play straighter in the show.

Have they?? Oh god. I'm so glad I'm sticking to the books. FFS.

I haven't read the books, but they have mentioned in the show that some of the places she's liberated have been immediately retaken, or the people she has liberated have no place to go, no job, no other skills, etc.

It's very clear that things aren't going well, but it hasn't fallen apart yet. (I don't know what happens in the books.)

The serious trouble should be hitting in either the coming season or the one after, depending on how they're working the chronology. (Books 4 and 5 are roughly concurrent with one another, just divided by location.)

This. It doesn't count as white savior because she's not saving all that much. And might need some saving herself.

This. So much this. But I suspect that the subversion of the trope won't even be enough for some people - it will be problematic in some other aspect, or not clear enough, or it should have been more this, more that.

Tell that to the Daenerys fans. "omfg she's saving the slaves she's so gooooood"

Shhh, it's easier going into an SJW diabre.
