(frozen comment) Re: What are your thoughts on abortion?

Making an exception for rape is just admitting the real issue is women's sexuality and wanting to punish women for voluntarily having sex outside of a traditional marriage

I really hate this assumption (and I'm pro-choice, to get that out of the way). Some people feel that murder is justified in certain circumstances but not others, and one of those circumstances could be rape. Having an unwanted baby conceived out of rape is usually going to cause more trauma than having one that was conceived out of consensual sex. People who are okay with abortion in cases of rape might believe that while murder is wrong, making a rape victim suffer more for it is worse.

And I think the whole argument that people who are against abortion just want to punish women is a huge strawman altogether and ignores how many of them are women who would themselves be in a very compromising position if they got pregnant without having abortion as an option.

I dunno, just because you're a woman doesn't mean you can't be sexist against them. If you have an idea of how women should traditionally act, and that they should be forced to bear babies they didn't want just because they conceived them, and damn any female person who goes against such things, etc, it doesn't sound like you have a lot of respect for your own gender.
