As a man, I recognize that my opinion is viewed as irrelevant by everyone, but I oppose abortion in situations where a pregnancy is not life threatening. If you don't want to be a parent, there are other options. If you just don't want to be pregnant, well it sucks that you're the only sex that has to deal with it, but that's a risk that comes with sex. And if you got pregnant after a rape, thst scumbag should spend the rest of his life paying for it, but the baby shouldn't pay for it with its.

And all people hould have readily available access to birth control, prenatal care, postnatal care and there should be good safety nets for those who have children.

But Like I said, I'm just a dude who had no say about whether his kid was killed.

you think rape victims should have to go through a pregnancy that is potentially very, very psychologically traumatic, expensive (if they live in a country without universal healthcare. who's going to foot that bill? the rapist? even if he's caught, as if) and possibly dangerous, considering that even modern healthcare hasn't completely eliminated serious injury or death as a result of childbirth complications? congrats on going all the way with your beliefs I guess (I've never understood the people who are pro-life except in cases of rape. if you for some reason think abortion is murder, then why wouldn't it be murder in all instances?) but jesus christ. do you really not care about the welfare of women at all?

I would argue that the unwanted baby DOES pay for it with his life, though. In particular the baby's quality of life. You wanted your child and was willing to be a father, but plenty of fathers are assholes and fuck off, never to be heard again. Being born of a rape and knowing you were born of a rape and that you might exist as a reminder of that to your mother who didn't want you is also a horrific thing I wouldn't wish on anyone.

This isn't Eddie Izzard. "Death or cake?" is not the only option and neither is abortion or being saddled with a kid you don't want. And I'm sorry but what-ifs can go a lot of ways. Death...pretty much only goes the one way.

Whether or not your opinion is relevant,you seem to misunderstand something: all pregnancies are life threatening. All of them. Even a pregnancy that goes perfect for nine months can end in postpartum hemorrhaging, or the woman's cervix will stop dilating during and the birth will fail. Pregnancy has huge risks and is very dangerous, and should not be forced on anyone, period.

If you don't want to be a parent, there are other options.

Yep. Abortion.
