Fort Minor (aka Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park's solo project): not entirely inoffensive stuff, but it's carefully thought-out in the way it promotes or addresses issues.

Flobots: white kid rap to be sure, but it's still ethical, conscience-driven work that's meant to inspire. Even if some might criticize it for coming from a place of privilege.

Gorillaz: some of the original lyrical poets. Lots of good songs to choose from, lots of relevance even today.

Action Bronson: rec. Pouches of Tuna.

There are more out there obviously, but starting here is a pretty good selection of stuff to let you figure out what you're into.

I love the first Flobots album (Fight with Tools). Seconding Fort Minor, too.
