I have to admit that I didn't like Shion in the first game because it was like 'boo-hoo my boyfriend died' BUT I started to really like her in the next couple of games because I got to find out exactly what happened on Militia, her parents and such and gosh, that definitely had to shape her in an irrevocable way. I can't really imagine going through what she did, so does she have a reason for being bratty and irresponsible at times? I think so, but I also think that the game definitely highlights her 'growth' process.

Haha, as I say, I still found her frustrating, but at the same time, it was important. Then again, I'm one of those who, when people speak about how cool Squall from FF8 is because he's all emo-ish, remember that Cecil from 4 had a much better reason...

PS - You'd responded to me on BS because of an Arslan account, and well... Can I say I love you? You know all the older series and don't make me feel so lonely xD

Oh thank you very much! I do love the older series. I pretty much grew up with them which makes me slightly old enough to remember, but I remember all the fun fandom stuff back in the days and RPing Citan and Jin and a whole SLEW of characters from those series and I think that a big chunk of my heart is still nostalgic towards the old series. *bows* And you are automatically awesome because you have a chaos account!

and Cecil, well he was emo at the very beginning but he did have a definite growth process, just as Shion did. I mean Shion's not in my top favorite female characters BUT I think that she held her own.

I used to play Sigurd actually. AND I have a Jin account lol. Kevin's been bothering me to make him one too, but I'm afraid what might happen should I do so. Last time, he got into an argument with Zim ><. We should continue to poke each other with nostalgia when we can, it's so much fun! And happy someone likes I have a chaos, few people like him; I know one other person who does.

Yeah, but Cecil still had a reason. Namely killing innocents. But as you say, he does grow, just like Shion. And with Shion, I think she just really was being affected in large part by U-DO towards the end, as well as Wilhelm's manipulations. It's obvious no one expected Allen to get through to her and the despair she was feeling. Also, when you account for Cherenkov in game one, there's a hint that Shion, though at that point still able to resist becoming a Gnosis, is very similar to the man...

Wow, Sigurd is rare. Back in the day I was a big Citan/Sigurd shipper (major as a matter of fact.. along with chaos/Jin) and I do enjoy those pairings but I'm not even sure that I could play them (not to mention my soul has been claimed by the Tales Of series -_- in such a major way). But it's nice to see people who like the classics!

I do see that you have a Rufus account, so perhaps sometime I can pit my Zack against your Rufus. lol.

Man, I forgot about Cherenkov and how much like Ramsus he was in a way. In fact I do like the parallels that all of the Xeno games have to the mothership title. I haven't yet gotten to play Xenoblade Chronicles. I really need to get around to doing that. hurm...

I was more Bart/Sigurd, but I do love chaos/Jin. Even for a friend to draw fanart for me for my birthday xD. But I can't really play Sigurd anymore, at least not in character... Altered by years of rp with a certain friend version though... Lol. And well, have yet to play more than Tales of Destiny sadly here... Presently Digital Devil Saga is consuming me.

XB is not related at all to the other series. At least from what I've watched. But it's great in itself and has a lot of the stuff that made the other two great!

And yes, toss your Zack at me. I already torment one Zack lol.

It's okay, I can't really play Citan anymore either. He's been permanently retired in the muse box however I do hop him up on whatever sort of alchohol he enjoys (alchoholic green tea? idk). But he's been through like so much RP wise so he deserves to kick back and critique the new kids that have come into the muse box.

Destiny is great, and so is Graces for the PS3, with it's Richard/Asbel subtext. I play an Asbel right now to a Richard and I thoroughly am enjoying it. He's a great character, if a bit obtuse. If there's one thing that the Tales series is good for, it's strong male friendships (with loads and loads of subtext).

Ahahaha for Zack torment; my Sephiroth muse torments my Zack. His favorite thing to do is take dog food, rip the labels off and then label it 'people chow'.

Zack falls for it Every. Single. Time

Watch out, old muses pop up randomly to annoy xD. And yeah, I'll get to Tales, just behind on many other things right now haha.

You don't want to know about my horribly ooc, anti-fangirl version Sephiroth... I'll stick with Rufus and his terrible hitting on anything male just to drive people mad... Or if it's cast mates, he's usually just being his usual dickish self. Anyway, feel free to hit me up on any of my accounts. Usually I'm on Rufus or Arslan though.

I could write a book about how most Sephiroth purists would not like my version of him and I'd laugh at them all.

And THIS icon is that sentiment in a nutshell.

LOL. I just got ultra tired of the fluffy Sephiroth who was never ever mean or cruel and always happy. The whole "OMG Sephiroth and Cloud are so cute together!!" type, when Sephiroth obviously had issues even before Nibelheim. So when I play him with my friend he's a sadistic bastard who would even use his brothers to get his way. And if you push me for ships, you either get ignored or Sephiroth is not interested/going to abuse you... Which is why he never sees the light!

It's funny how that works, my Sephiroth generally ignores people unless he is being mean to them. But he is highly eccentric when he does it. I think most of my interpretation of him comes from the the Crisis Core, because I seriously didn't care about Sephiroth UNTIL Crisis Core (but neither did I Zack). I do not like the Sephiroth/Cloud construct honestly (my Cloud pairing comes from Dissidia ironically enough), I prefer Sephiroth as being the prized lapdog of Lazard from Crisis Core but mainly my Sephiroth is probably very AU and I'm okay with that. It's the version of Sephiroth that has pretty much crawled into my head.

I have yet to watch Crisis Core, don't own a PSP to play it, but I could probably play him straight (no pun intended) if I had to, or had any energy to. But instead I ended up with Rufus and Vincent... Though my Rufus isn't a complete douche... If you know him xD. Btw, if you have an AIM or something I'd love to chat more.

Late response, but I like you have a chaos. I keep wanting to tag you, but I'm always a bit uneasy tagging around with Loki (dubious character is dubious and Marmite-y).

Don't fear tagging any of my muses, I love Loki and all the trouble he might bring. Besides, half of mine at least have the personality that can deal with him.

Yeah, as two days ago proves, teen Loki's kind of contentious in the fandom. But if you don't mind, I'll tag in on bakerstreet some time.

Must have missed that drama. But yeah, I'm cool with it. Specially since I play some characters people just seem to ignore lol.
